ABOUT BUS SUPPORT FROM DFS
Design for Sharing’s Perloff Memorial Bus Fund helps us ensure that every school has an opportunity to experience the arts at UCLA. If the cost of bus transportation prevents your school from participating in DFS programs, we’re here to help!
To apply for subsidized bus transportation for a DFS event, please complete the information above.
We do our best to provide as many buses as possible, though we often receive more requests than we can accommodate. We’ll update you on your bus request status via email.
IMPORTANT BUS DETAILS
Trips are limited to certain hours, determined by the bus vendor’s availability. Generally, field trip buses can be scheduled 9 am-1:30 pm.
A standard bus seats 52 teens/adults (2 per seat), or 76 primary graders (3 per seat). For upper elementary or middle school, when a mix of 2 and 3 per seat may be possible, the maximum is approximately 60, at the driver’s discretion.
Plan to arrive at UCLA at least 15 minutes prior to the performance.
If DFS is providing your transportation, we will place the order with an LAUSD-approved bus vendor, typically American Transportation or Mission Student Transport.
